ABOUT US
Five Ashes Village Hall is situated in the village of Five Ashes, on the outskirts of Mayfield, East Sussex, in the heart of Wealden. The hall is home to a variety of clubs and societies.
The Management Committee made up of elected volunteers, hold a number of events throughout the year, including supporting Five Ashes Horticultural Society with their Annual Spring and Summer Shows, a Quiz night and a Christmas Carol evening to raise money for the upkeep of the hall and facilities.
The two halls and small meeting room are available for hire and are a great venue for parties, dances, exercise classes and meetings.
The Memorial Playing Field is located on the same plot and is also available for hire from the Committee. It is a popular dog-walking venue for many villagers and is used by Five Ashes Church of England Primary School for sports activities and Mayfield Cricket Club.
The children's play area is maintained by Mayfield and Five Ashes Parish Council. In 2014 it was the recipient of some much needed new play equipment following funding from the parish council and from the Veolia Environmental Trust.
In 2017 a small area of rough ground next to the play area was transformed into a sensory garden. This was made possible by the village hall receiving a grant from the Lund Fund. The hall committee are very grateful to members of the Horticultural Society who help to maintain and care for the garden.
